The birth of the first photovoltaic power station
In 1983, Yuanzicha Township in Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, was one of the poor rural areas in China at that time. The first photovoltaic power station in China was born here. This batch of solar single-crystal solar panels was manufactured and donated by Kyocera Corporation of Japan, installed by Gansu Natural Energy Research Institute, with a total installed capacity of 10kW.
There are 36 households in the village, each with 2 fluorescent lamps. At that time, this 10kW photovoltaic power station met the electricity needs of the entire village!
Since this is an off grid power station, it is impossible to know its specific power generation at that time, but from its power supply situation, it can be roughly estimated.
relocate
In the late 1980s, with the rapid development of China, national power was delivered to this small village, and this photovoltaic power station also fell out of favor.
Many photovoltaic panels have been dismantled by villagers and used as pigsty doors?! ......
After learning about this situation, the staff of Gansu Energy Research Institute negotiated with the local government and villagers to transport back the remaining 7kw photovoltaic power station for a fee.
At that time, there were two disposal methods for the returned photovoltaic power station:
1、 Take it to Xizang and install it for people who need it. 2、 Stay at the research institute
Weighing its value, it was ultimately left at the research institute.
Greater value
Dozens of spring and autumn have passed, and in 2018, this photovoltaic power station turned 35 years old! Nowadays, it is still generating electricity! It still has 6.4kw installed! In recent years, due to various considerations, it has also been integrated into the State Grid.
How is its decay condition now? Take a look at the photovoltaic module sampling data from a research institute after 29 years of operation:

From this data, it can be seen that after 29 years of use, its power has decreased by an average of 16%, and the severely attenuated photovoltaic modules have also decreased by less than 20%!
Not to mention that current technology is more mature, the example from over 30 years ago fully confirms that photovoltaic modules can be used for more than 25 years!
