The photoelectric conversion service life of single crystal solar panels

The service life of solar panels is determined by the materials used, such as solar cells, tempered laminated glass, EVA, TPT, etc. Generally, solar panels made by manufacturers using better raw materials can have a service life of more than 25 years. However, with the harm of the natural environment, the raw materials of solar panels will become brittle over time. Under normal circumstances, using a 20-year output power will result in a 30% attenuation coefficient, while using a 25 year output power will result in a 70% attenuation coefficient.

Single crystal transformation is always more efficient than polycrystalline transformation, even in the laboratory. The material of another single crystal is better than that of polycrystalline, and it is not easily damaged during processing. In terms of appearance, single crystals are usually pure colors (mostly dark blue and gray black).

The conversion efficiency of single crystal solar panels is around 15%, with some exceeding 24%. It has the highest conversion efficiency among all types of solar cells, but the manufacturing cost is quite high, so it cannot be widely applied. Because single crystal silicon is usually packaged with tempered laminated glass and moisture-proof epoxy resin, it is durable and has a service life of up to 15 years and up to 25 years.
